About 10 years ago I fell. This fall caused a drastic change in my life. My range of activity went from 100% down to about 20-30%. After several years of chiropractic treatment this increased to about 40-50%. I was told that I would need continual chiropractic care for the rest of my life. I was constantly in some form of pain ranging from unbearable to dull. My “quality of life” was very small and painful. My husband and I recently moved to Texas, (we love this state!), I began looking for a chiropractor. I have been under care by Dr. Houghton since January 2001, and I cannot believe my improvement. I was injured in a gymnastics accident 11½ years ago. I was in tremendous pain and went to numerous doctors who all said I needed extensive surgery and a long recovery period, but could not guarantee that I would be pain free. Over the years I have been hospitalized when the pain became unbearable. I had to give up all types of physical activity that I once loved – teaching gymnastics, bowling, aerobics, weight training, dancing, and playing softball. Everything I once loved was too painful. I could not travel because sitting for too long caused tremendous pain. I had given up hope of being pain free without the use of narcotics.
November 25, 2000 I was involved in an auto accident. Hit twice from behind by a truck and trailer full of horses. I was skeptical when he told me that they could help me with my headaches and dizziness and with the proper care help with my chronic pain problems that I had been struggling with for years. By the end of February I could finally say that for the first time in 11 1/2years I was pain free! I have been able to sleep without medication. I started bowling again and am able to travel. I am finally at maintenance care and have gone from being a “chiropractic skeptic” to a firm believer in the amazing health benefits of chiropractic care. I have a new outlook on life.

I came to see Dr. Houghton with chronic sciatic nerve pain. The pain was moderate and had existed for almost one year prior to my first visit. Over-the-counter pain relievers did little to reduce the discomfort. In addition to the pain, I suffered from right leg weakness as well.
I am delighted to say that with Dr. Houghton’s care I have recovered 100% from my sciatica condition. I have not had ANY discomfort or weakness for over 6 months now. In addition to my sciatica, Dr. Houghton found and corrected another chiropractic condition. While the treatment program initially seemed lengthy, it was needed to correct my condition.
