New Patients
at Texas Family Chiropractic
Walking into a new doctor’s office can feel uncomfortable. We get it. At Texas Family Chiropractic, we want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive. Our team makes sure every detail of your first visit goes smoothly, so you can focus on getting the care you need without any surprises or confusion. Since chiropractic care builds on each visit, we believe in explaining everything up front.
Your first visit
Plan for about 30 minutes during your initial appointment. You’ll complete paperwork (about 20-25 minutes), then meet with Dr. Houghton for your consultation and examination. We use digital X-rays on-site to get a complete picture of what’s happening with your spine and nervous system. This detailed testing helps Dr. Houghton identify the exact source of your concerns.
Our open office design means you’re never isolated during your visit. When Dr. Houghton explains something to you, other patients often benefit from hearing the answer too. This creates a learning environment where everyone grows healthier together.

What happens next
Your second visit includes a Report of Findings. Dr. Houghton reviews your X-rays and examination results, then creates a personalized treatment plan designed to help you recover and maintain your health. You’ll receive your first adjustment during this appointment and take home a document showing your expected progress.
After these first two visits, your appointments become shorter and more focused. Most regular visits take just 10-15 minutes, but don’t let the brevity fool you. Once we’ve laid the groundwork, Dr. Houghton can quickly assess your spine, make the necessary adjustments, and get you back to your day.
Like working out at the gym, each visit builds on the one before. Consistency matters when retraining your body to hold proper alignment. If you miss an appointment, we might lose some momentum toward your health goals.
